Trip preparation vaccinations

We found out that we were going to need a few shots before the trip. So with prescriptions in hand we headed down to the MN Department of Public Health. Lori, our travel advisor was great. She explained Typhoid and Yellow Fever and told us how to best prevent getting these diseases. Little Joe kept nudging Mom wondering if he was going to have to get a shot. No one had the nerve to tell him. Lori slipped and used the word "shot" instead of vaccine and at that point it was all over. Huge tears came running down Joe's face. He nudged Mom again and said, ask her if I can scream. Lori said absolutely you can Joe. Within momemts Joe was in full scream mode. While it only lasted a brief moment I am pretty sure they could hear him all the way in Kenya. Next week we start our Typhoid meds. Hopefully that will go more smoothly as Mom opted to get us the pill version.
